About Us

We aim to enhance the climate change readiness of agricultural enterprises, regardless of their size. We've been working on this platform in collaboration with a few partners since 2019, and would like to extend this further to new countries and crops. Contact us below to tell us which ones you would you like to see!

Our vision

Creating an open collaboration platform that drives action in the interests of vulnerable farmers and farm laborers by making climate change yield impacts and resulting adaptation priorities freely available for some of the most important food crops globally.

About us: Turning Climate Research into Actionable Insights

We are the Alliance of Bioversity-CIAT, a global research organization delivering research-based solutions that harness agricultural biodiversity and sustainably transform food systems to improve people's lives. We work on solutions to address the global crises of malnutrition, climate change, biodiversity loss, and environmental degradation.

Back in 2019, we started with the Climate Resilience Study, an assessment to help agribusinesses understand the local climate impacts and the business case of investing in resilience. With the release of the Climate Resilience Platform, we aim to enable an adaptation ecosystem to increase climate resilience of farmers and the supply chains they support and to create opportunities for large-scale partnerships.

Our platform is an open and freely accessible tool that provides climate risk and opportunity intelligence to companies, sustainability groups and adaptation communities. The platform relies on leading global climate data and models, combined with our climate and agriculture expertise and local expert consultations. This allows us to offer a deep dive into the risks and opportunities for adaptation in the face of progressive climate change.

Contact us

To build better and faster, we are looking for collaborators to share knowledge and information on climate change adaptation and risk management for agriculture. Alignment on adaptation actions is needed to drive change in time. We welcome your ideas on how to improve the platform to help more people get access to the climate change insights they need. Please get in touch if you want to share your ideas, experience or questions.

In particular, if you are interested in one of the following topics, please do drop us a quick line to let us know.

  • Do you want to add new crops or geographies?
  • Do you want to add or edit any of the adaptation practices used in the Resilience scenario 2030?
  • How do you currently use the tool to inform your ongoing activities?
  • Do you have climate analyses you would like to display in this interactive format?

Our team

Our team builds tools to guide adaptation decisions, driven by the realization that food security and prosperity depend on food business managers of today understanding and driving adaptation actions. We come to the Alliance Bioversity-CIAT from 5 different countries and 6 disciplines across climate, data science, statistics, computer science, economics and business management.
